Munich, October 20, 2026. To guarantee manufacturers and operators of fast-charging infrastructure future-proof operations, EcoG and Siemens Digital Industries are combining their automation and charging intelligence. Under a new cooperation, EcoG, an international specialist for connected charging infrastructure headquartered in Munich, becomes an official Siemens Product Partner for SIMATIC Automation Systems. Siemens’ proven SIMATIC automation remains an integral part of charging systems, while EcoG, as a neutral partner, takes over system integration and field operations.
The partnership supports the reliable further development of existing and new charging infrastructure. For EcoG, the expanded collaboration underlines its technological expertise in system architecture and charging process control. More than 50 manufacturers of DC fast chargers worldwide already rely on the technology of both companies.
Upgrading to the EcoG operating system secures the infrastructure for the long term. Manufacturers and operators alike receive continuous software updates and meet upcoming requirements such as the Cyber Resilience Act and ISO 15118-20, which the EU mandates for new charging points from 1 January 2027. The system supports Plug & Charge in its common variants and the Megawatt Charging System (MCS) for heavy-duty vehicles, and it enables billing compliant with German calibration law (Eichrecht). Remote diagnostics and anomaly detection surface faults early, reducing downtime and on-site service calls.
Jörg Heuer, CEO and co-founder of EcoG:
“This partnership goes beyond a pure technology partnership. We are laying the foundation to take one of the largest charge point portfolios in the market into the future on the software side. On this basis, manufacturers can quickly bring their chargers up to date without having to redevelop them. The SIMATIC architecture stays in place; we simply replace the charging module.”
René Kuroczka, Product Manager Automation Systems, Siemens Digital Industries:
“Our customers build their charging systems on SIMATIC automation, and that will not change. For integration in the field, we have found a partner in EcoG with whom we combine an established, future-proof charging infrastructure ecosystem with proven industrial automation.”
